PTO Shaft

Post by 58vintage »

Afternoon all,

What size Shaft does a 1958 Power Major have?
Mines either had a fair bit of ware on the splines or its the smaller type like on a Ferguson TE 20. Being a numpty I assumed as a late 50's tractor it would have the now standard 1 3/8 shaft.

Thanks

Also as for some reason I cannot find it, what's max engine rpm for this tractor?

Standard 1 3/8 shaft not the smaller Ferguson one, engine revs 1800-2000 rpm.

Thanks for the info Brian.

Did the shafts not have much depth to the splines? They are nothing like the depth of our John Deere 6930. Or have I got a massively worn shaft? If that is the case is there anywhere in the UK you can get new shafts?
