It went on a bit.
It went on a bit.
In 1986 the 335 year war between the Netherlands and the Isles of Scilly ended! ![Buddies :buddies:](./images/smilies/buddies.gif)

The interesting thing is that the Dutch Marines have had a unit serving with the British Army for 300 years according to their C/O who was interviewed recently.

I think some of these wikipaedia contributors need to buy a Fordson Brian, they have far too much time on their hands !
The usual 'longest' war is the one with Russia vs Berwick upon Tweed as they were not included on the armistice document - this one is arguing that The Scillies couldn't be at war, or peace as they are part of the UK![Does this make sense? :scratchhead:](./images/smilies/headscratch.gif)
Thank goodness 'our' wiki is the result of people who know what they are taking about
Looked in on a nice little collection of Majors this afternoon (plus a Nuffy & Leyland, to find that 5 were out of their sheds and being used, one had done a Hainford Tuttington round trip! didn't find a spare back wheel but had a nice chat in the warm spring sun![Applause ](./images/smilies/clap.gif)
