Adjusting the Hydraulic draft control spring on a Super np

Post by Evos3960 »

Would some kind person tell me the correct adjustment on the draft control spring on a Super np. I found that it was easy to push the top link bracket in and out by hand, so I removed the bottom pin from the rocker and turned the whole thing in an anticlockwise direction this I found took the free play out of the plunger, But how do you know when you have reached the correct adjustment. HELP! :x

On a NP Super:
1. Raise lift arms.
2. Screw top link in until you have minimum in/out movement.

If you go further the in/out movement will increase, back off until you have minimum movement.

Movement should be 0 - 3/16th" approx. If more than this, remove the adjustable rod, remove the round housing holding the large spring and take out shims. Tighten the housing up, replace adjustable rod and repeat 1 and 2 above.
