This morning I backed up my dexta to my (home made but not by me) transport box only to find that the arms on the box were slightly too large for the swivel balls in the arms on the dexta.
It previously fitted my grey fergie
What is the difference in terms of availability, standard size, cat 1 vs cat 2 and the like please?
I didn't realise that there could be a difference !
Any help and advice gratefully received
Alex
Basic question re linkage (categories?)
Re: Basic question re linkage (categories?)
AFter having done some research, I realise that the link box is more than likely cat 1 or poss 2 and therefore my dexta is 0 or 1
Hence not fitting
It doesn't explain why my T20 managed it though !
So my next question is what are my options?
Is it worth / possible to change the arms on the dexta?
Or do I have to buy another transport box?
thanks again

Re: Basic question re linkage (categories?)
Your dexta is probably cat 1 and the transportbox cat 2.
If you weld on cat2 ends on your dexta it will do the job. There are bushes available so you can still use cat1 implements.

Re: Basic question re linkage (categories?)
Was the Dexta always Cat 1 or was there an option for cat 2 lift arms?
Looks like my spreader is also cat 2.
What options are there to convert to cat 2 ? Lift arms off a major perhaps?
Thanks

Re: Basic question re linkage (categories?)
Did some actual measuring !
Dexta is 22mm i/d = cat 1
link box is 25mm o/d
spreader is 25 and 19 as has twin pins
Link box gets the grinder treatment. SPreader is ok
Alex has learned some more !!

Alex
you can buy Cat 2 ends, cut off the Cat 1 ends and weld on the Cat 2s. I got the local agricultural engineers to do mine.
cheers
