Fordson Super Major Paint

Hi
My Super Major is nearing its restoration first of all has anyone the colour codes for the Blue and Orange paint?
and second what was and was not painted on them from new I have seen ones with the wheel studs painted and some has them as the bare finish can anyone advise me I assume there's no colour pictures of a Super major when new ?

Thats a problem. The bleu should be EMPIRE BLEU. But!!!!! The same name will give different shades by different supliers and different sorts of paint.
The same for orange.

Mine has RAL 2009 traffic orange on the wheels and 5017 traffic bleu on the tractor. I know it's the wrong colour. The bleu is almoost the same as the Ford 1000 series.
Some mix Ford bleu and Ford gray to get the right colour of the early Major. But that is very different from the later Super Major.

Best to find a piece of the tractor where the sun has never shined and take it to a paint shop.

Also not under the bonnet? I used the paint on the inside of the dashboard panel below to get a match. I wonder if a color would be found behind the little gear change plate.

It had no tin work at all was in a bad way but its getting there

I used colors of Sparex, if I remember correctly.

And according to Brian the whole Tractor is blue, as if it was bathed in color.

Actually the older Fordson Major screens are blue. The Power Majors and Super Major screens are silver. Dandy Dave!

Ah yes I see I have seen super majors and the headlight grills as I would call them are orange so they are meant to be sliver
