Hi Everyone
I have a Fordson Super Major (Industrial Model) and need help and advice regarding a broken selector fork.
Can anyone please tell me which model this selector fork is off?
Regards
Dennis
Gear Selector Forks
Re: Gear Selector Forks
Re: Gear Selector Forks
Thanks for your response. Here are some more photos. Its a Fordson Super Major with a Cranvel Front End Loader fitted.
It has a Funk Reverse -O-Matic Transmission fitted. I spoke to an ex funk specialist who said the gearbox is all Fordson?
Hope someone here can help me sort this out as I would really like to get her going again.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Gear Selector Forks
Thanks for the pics, it's a superb conversion you have there. Unfortunately it's also probably a very rare conversion, your best bet for a new selector is a scrapy with the same gearbox. The std Major gearbox is 6 forward 2 reverse, but you'll have the same forward and reverse gears (different parts). Your Funk specialist will need to be called in again, the main gearbox casting is the normal one, but the internals are not, so finding replacements will be even harder (it's bad enough for normal gearboxes). You have an NP engine, so it's the most powerful one available. Some more general views of the gearbox will also help to see what you have, although we now know it's a rare conversion.

Hi Dennis, you may get some answers regarding your gearbox on the Classic Machinery Forum, they have alot of info on old industrial machines and conversions on there

Re: Gear Selector Forks
Thanks John and Sandy,
I'm playing with the idea of converting it to manual as the funk auto has seen better days and parts are hard and expensive ty source.
With the machine being a Super Major, can I use a gearbox and back end from a Power Major if I decided to go down this path?
Thanks again,
Dennis

Re: Gear Selector Forks
Just use the gearbox, you might even be able to use the same gearbox casting. If you fit a Power Major rear end you change the brakes and hydraulics (and maybe loose the diff lock if you have it).
