Correct seat

Post by maxnowell »

Hi chaps, I have a we question for you: I have a 1957 Major, one of the intermediate Diesel/Power models, a much-loved workmate. The seat is a wobbly, much-welded and uncomfortable thing, with no spring or rubber damper, and I would like to replace it with the correct seat - but which is correct? A photo would be appreciated!

TIA, Max

A pic of your seat would help, but here's Billy showing what most tractors had

a few had the deluxe seat, don't have a pic of the right one but Davie shows roughly what it looks like (the cussion is not correct and actually not very comfy)

Many lack cussions and are rough to ride on as they were never intended to loose the cussions. The Major one is slightly different, with a bracket more like Billy's seat but not the same.
Always keen to see Mk2 Major's as they had lots of changes in the very short run.
