Hi all,
The block evolution as I know it, this is quite a tricky one, especially in the early period.
The first ones were E1ADKN-6010. I don't know if the change to the oil pressure pipe connection made any change to the block but I suspect it's not the case (If it is let me know). From 1266167 the hour counter was made available by replacing the theaded plug with two 1/4" UNF tapped holes for a cover plate or hour counter, later the tachometer angle drive. Around a similar time (can't find a serial number for it nor do I know exactly what came first) dowels for the front mounting plate were added, also another bolt, I don't know if that was at the same time or not. I have no part numbers for these. From March 54 the engine was fitted in lorries and the block became 500E-6010. From 1425097 the block was altered with a larger bypass hole, new tapped holes for the new throttle, lack of drilling for throttle through the block (except petrol with governor), simpler pattern and 10 front mounting plate bolts increased to 3/8" UNC from 5/16" UNC, producing E1ADKN-6010E and the 6 cylinder engine appeared with 508E-6010. Petrol lorries were produced with 528E-6010. From around 1481091 (roughly) the block became E1ADDN-6010H, E1ADN-6010J and 528E-6010B (I don't know what changed here), and was supplied (I think) pre fitted with liners, 500E-6010B was made for service (same as E1ADN-6010J but with the earlier front main bearing cap supplied). From 1518654 locating dowels for the head gasket as always fitted to 6 cylinder engines were added. From 1591023 the liner OD was increased and an upper o-ring was fitted (a few were initially made with the new liner but without a groove for the o-ring), and 9/16" UNC main bearing bolts replaced the 1/2" ones, the block being E1ADDN-6010K, E1ADN-6010K and 528E-6010C, and 508E-6010B and 510E-6010B (500E-6010C replaced 500E-6010B). From 1613500 a new lift pump was fitted, this was made to coincide with adapting the block for the minimec although it didn't get fitted till later, a new separate sediment bowl as used on lorries was added with suitable mountings added to the block, making E1ADDN-6010M, E1ADN-6010L and 528E-6010D, and 508E-6010C and 510E-6010C (500E-6010D replaced 500E-6010C). From 08B-752791 a drilling was added to drain oil between the auxiliary shaft seal and rear bearing, although only intended for diesel engines petrol engines followed suit once stocks were used up, these were E1ADDN-6010P and 528E-6010E, and 508E-6010D and 510E-6010D. Around March 64 casting was contracted to the Sterling Metals foundry. Finally from August 64 5/8" UNC main bearing bolts and 3/8" UNC sump bolts made E1ADDN-6010T and 528E-6010F and 508E-6010E and 510E-6010E. Ebro started with E1ADDN-6010H then carried on in a similar way, but didn't make blocks able to accept all kinds of injector pump, untill late 65 they still used pneumatic governors, with no holes for the minimec, and still using the original lift pump, then changed to the minimec and omitted the holes for the previous pump bracket and used the later lift pump with no sediment bowl, all this with a block like E1ADDN-6010T. I don't really know much more, there's very poor information on this and no idea how many changes occurred.
Now for a table (missing details will be filled in as they're clarified, Ebro serial numbers are not at all clear yet so for now won't appear, Mk1 industrials (954E, 955E, 956E, 562E & 563E) are also similarly unclear as are many lorry numbers, especially ET6's):

Note the post is unfinished as I only have access to our vehicles, therefore your help with pics of the other heads is highly appreciated. I have seen some on Ebay, causing some doubts on where the part no. and EnFo (or FoMoCo) are stamped. Also Ebro parts are rather more difficult to keep track of with no proper manuals around.
Note at the time of posting I don't yet have good pics of our ones, they will come shortly.
