Hydraulics lifting constantly.

Post by JamesG »

Hi All, thanks for the add.

I have a super dexta bought with no Hydraulics. I removed the top and found that the control valve (the top valve of the two mounted under the Hydraulic piston) was siezed open. I removed it and cleaned it but the small seal (more like a metal piston ring) was broken up, so I left it out.

Now when I start the tractor the arms slowly creep up even if the lever is down, would this be due to that missing seal on the control valve or is there another issue? If it might be the seal can anyone point me in the direction of a replacement. Many thanks, James.

I think you actually mean the unloading valve. The control valve is directly connected to the main lever and only directly controls the lowering, neutral and raising is controlled hydraulically by the unloading valve. I'm amazed it stuck with the metal ring, as that was intended to avoid the well known sticking with an o-ring as used originally (Ford worldwide tractors had the metal ring and it was fitted to Fordsons in repairs). Can't say if there's any easy place to get either, the part number is 87035-ESB (o-ring, 39/64"x53/64"x7/64"). Ford also had them with no o-ring in repairs. Check your depth settings though, as if they're off all kinds of strange things can happen. Manual: http://www.smallholderservices.co.uk/si ... hydraulics
