injector pump drive pad

Post by mark white »

Hi

The fibre drive pad / coupling recently went on my tractor.
I got a new pad but the centre whole is too small. The engine is the industrial version, are there two different sizes of pad :?:

I have slowly filed the centre hole and it is a snug fit on the auxillary shaft. After putting it all back together, the top of the injector pump wobbles slightly. Is this due to the modified new pad or other problems? The injector pump is mounted correctly and all four mounting screws are tight. The tractor fires up and runs fine.
Any body else had problem with replacement drive pads?

All help gratefully recieved

There is only one pad but I would suspect that themodern ones are not built to the same specs.

The industrial engines and truck engines used to have a "silent" drive coupling rather than the fibre disc.

I have managed to replace the pad, had to drill out the centre hole to get to fit.

I have actualy used the tractor to top some grass, nice and long so giving the tractor some work to do! It hasn't been used for about ten years and performed without any problems. :D

I do have some pictures, will try to put them on here.
