Getting lucky

Post by kiwiland dexta »

I recently bought a box of bits through FB Marketplace, primarily because they included some Butler mudguard lights and I needed one.
Yesterday I emptied the box and there were a few surprises.
An ENFO bulb that still works

Then there is this, there are quite a few Major side-lights so it may be from a Major? I have no idea!

Your thoughts?

Happy tractoring,

Not aware of ever seeing that part on any Major or Dexta, but who knows, maybe one did have that. The socket and number plate light look great, glad you have its wire conduit. These EnFo bulbs are legendary in being almost indestructable, so a really great find. What part no is it?

Looking closely at the oval disc for a part number, there are faint letters stamped into reading as follows:

WARNING
TO AVOID DAMAGE TO PUMP
PUT CONTROL LEVER
FULLY DOWN AND FIT
W(?)EDGE UNDER STOPPER

The W is not legible so it could read "EDGE"

The mystery item with chain is used to hold down the hydraulic control lever when the linkage drawbar is in use, to prevent accidental raising of the linkage.
It may be a Dexta part, or possibly Fergy.

Very important find! I'm not very familiar with the linkage drawbar yet so not surprised I missed it. I'll go through manuals again and see what they say.
