gearbox temps

what temps should a super major gearbox be reaching.
on a 45 minute run mine was just about to hot to touch, plenty of oil in it and breather is unblocked,
i know its bolted to a 6 cylinder that reaches high temps but not sure what the normal range is.
when i checked oil level it was still very hot, and when i undid filler cap there was an escape of pressure, surly there should be no pressure as i have cleaned breather and checked its in the right hole under battery tray.

Hello Brett,

Sounds like something is faulty. Maybe transmission brake is stuck or a bearing with trouble.

Did you hear anything suspicious?

I had a hot gearbox on our major when we had her not for a too long time, and then was leaked to much oil out of the box.
After filling up the problem was gone.
