Great festival in Panningen (The Netherlands)

Post by Pascal »

Hi guys,

Yesterday I visited (what they say) the biggest festival on the mainland of Europe. It was held in the Southern part of the Netherlands. There were over 1.200 tractors and stationary engines.

Here 's a small selection of my pictures. I hope you like them.

Quite an unusual machine, I think.

Image

This is an Unimog, an German machine, that is a mix of a truck and a tractor. Great machine, I think.

Image

Brians favorite :D

Fordson N (I think)

A bit of harvesting

A Fordson with a crane. In the old days, there were quite a lot of them in the Netherlands. Some of them were built on other brands, but usually Fordson.

Image

While I was photographing this tractor, I met an Englishman, who had the same tractor at home. Surprisingly he didn't know who Brian was. :D
I gave him the address of the website. May be he will become a member too?

I have never seen this before. A vineyard Ford 3000.

Special too, I guess, a vineyard SuperDexta

Super 4

Image

The Harley Davidsons among the tractors (when running, the complete machine is moving). :D These are from the brand Ursus. Originally they were built as Lanz Bulldog.
One cylinder engines.

My future tractor? :D This one had an original diecast sump.

Especially for Brian

Two Fendts (German tractors)

Italian Ford-conversions, I believe. They seem to be quite rare.

Image

The tractorbrand, that got some extra attention this year, was Eicher. Special with this brand was that each cylinder could get out apart, so without getting the complete engine out.

Image

This is an experimental ploughing-machine, based on an Eicher. It was designed by the Agricultural University in Wageningen (The Netherlands). It wasn't a great succes unfortunately.
Don't these wheels look formiliar to you?

Two Roadless conversions on Internationals

And last but not least, an E27N. In The Netherlands, they have the nickname Blue Heron

I hope you enjoyed these pictures.
Best regards,
Pascal

Fordson's don't leak oil, they are just marking their territory.

Here are my pictures. I was there with two friends and we walked some time with Pascal. As you can see we have had a bit of rain but it was perfect whether for a show.
Seen some beautiful and rare stuff.
We have seen the tractor pulling with the big Lanz, Ursu and Pampa tractors. Forgot to take pictures of it. But I can tell you a lot of noise, vibrations and smoke but they kept going and some made a full pull.

Fantastic photos, a pleasure to watch! Thanks!

You're right Pascal: back in the day you saw crane-equipped Majors everywhere here. You could buy them for little more than scrap value near the end. I'd say they started to disappear in the late '80s.

That Eicher is spectacular!!

The Eicher is a Mammut from 1967 and it's hydrostatic driven. They did not sell more then hundred from those.

Good show old boy. That blue Fordson N, ( 4th photo from the top.) looks like it had "hard water itis" at one time in it's life. I've seen several F's over here with the same repair. :D Dandy Dave!
Have a Fordsonful day Folks!
