The primer pump on my 1959 Dexta is still working, I am unable to claim that it is the origanal pump but, it was on the tractor when I bought it.

I would assume that the item on ebay is probably in good condition particularly if it has been stored in its box. The materials in those days were far superior to those of today as is illustrated by vehicles which are still on their original tyres!

Mine still works to Tubal, I've owner her is 83. It looks like an original.

Yes I was tempted, but had concerns that it might not work properly.
I recently dismantled my original tap and found the rubber flap valves were deformed:

So I'm now considering doing the Stefan mod on mine. This has the added advantage that no shut-off valve is required, since the chain-saw bulb pump used in his mod doesn't leak.
