I have inherited a F******n TED20 from my Auntie to go with my Dexta so now I am 3 tractor family ( my wife thinks I am significantly over tractored for 1.75 acres!).
Unfortunately it has a long horizontal crack in the block just above the drain tap. Has anyone any advice / experience on repairing a crack such as this.
I promise not to ask any F******n specific questions but I would value any advice on this block repair issue.
Thanks
Andy
Cracked block
Andy,
My local engineering shop recommended a gentleman who came out and "stiched" such a crack in situ. It was on a Dexta for one of our site members, Alan, I think.
I will see if I can find the information.

I've done a search and been in touch with a company called Surelock - they seem very knowledgable about metal stiching engine blocks. If I can get the engine going and if it runs ok then I may go this route.
It seems that it may be quite an expensive repair but since the tractor was family owned for many years I think would rather keep the tractor as is than put in a replacement engine (even if I could find one)
I'll let you know how I get on if I decide to go this route.
