I'm new to the forum, and wanted to say hello to all. I have been reading a lot of the past posts and have gathered a wealth of very helpful information regarding Dexta Tractors. I just bought my first Dexta about 2 months ago. She was running when I bought her, and still is
I will be attempting to restore her over the next few years, at the same time giving her minor work duty.
Here's a couple pics of her.. I didn't think she was a bad deal at $800US
Nice deal indeed; I've spent much more than that on father-in-law's old tractor and I still need rear tires. Your tractor looks very nice and I'd say you got an excellent deal.
Welcome to the board.
Nice Dexta you have.
Could it be that the previous owner read the posts over here about the orange grills and remove them. Then painted the body of the tractor to make a statement?
Not a bad deal in deed, I payed a lot more for my first dexta 3 months ago and now in the process of getting the part to get it perfect.. well nearly at least. But welcome.....

I think those casting codes PxxF are for Dec 1961. If not, I'm sure someone will correct us!
Did you get the tractor serial number from the left clutch flange, running vertically? See: http://www.fordsontractorpages.nl/serial.htm
All the best,
Ben
Welcome to the board, that's a fine Dexta you have there, from the casting codes you give I would agree with Ben it's a 1961, the bonnet decals gives it away as well as these were introduced from 1960 onwards.
Hello and welcome, That is a nice looking dexta and it looks like it is on 24 inch rims on the back which was a option according to my owners hand book.
No you have a 1962 Dexta. The numbers quoted in the list for January 1962 is a MID-Month number so your tractor is early January. A 1961 tractor would be 09A, they changed the numbering system in November 1961.
Your bargain gets better and better Jeff! It is now nearly 4 years younger than you first thought.
