Hello to all, I am so glad to find this collection of people who share a common love of all things Fordson...

I recently purchased a Fordson Major I think it is a 1958?

identifying #s I have located are as follows....

# behind /under #1 injector .....1482575

# under manifold, close to alternator / dynamo......K18B

hydraulic lift casting # under seat..........K22B

also found K25B

and also the letter F in two different locations

please help me identify this tractor

is this enough info to tell if it is a Major , Super Major or other possibilities....

It is running, has a few problems (doesn't lift ) and (dies after 20 minutes are so of mowing)but I love it.... my dad had a 1963? Fordson Dexa.... I grew up using it around our small farm...strongest little tractor I have ever encountered.....(the stories I could tell...my dad used it like a bulldozer)

I hoping to restore them both , starting with the Major first... if I can find parts needed

I will post pictures as soon as possible (need to learn how first)

Your tractor was indeed buily in August 1958, The last Fordson Major was No.1481013 In August 1958 so yours is one of the first Power Majors.

Hey Dale, I have ordered from agriline a couple of times. Nothing real heavy so shipping cost was not very high, received within 10 days. You have to be sure of the conversion rate for us $. There is a new holland site, it is listed in one of the post on here somewhere, I think on one regarding hydraulics. It is very good at getting you the part # and you can take a print out to your local new holland dealer, they can get you most parts. Also on here is a parts list, it is also very helpful.

I can confirm Agriline gives a good service on UK side of the pond at least. They are normally helpful about answering queries on parts etc too. I've had a couple of duff parts - the quality of some of repro parts can be variable, which they've replaced with no quibbles.
Another good source of parts in UK is Malcolm Hipperson, who has an ebay shop. Very helpful and can also do some 2nd hand parts.

tore into the brakes and got them working perfect......

next is "fuel lift pump with glass ball" .pouring diesel out the base....anyone know the best place to find it?

also I meed a oil dip stick...... doesn't look like there is on to be had.......maybe some one can give me the measurements so I can make one.....

Welcome to the BB.
I thought that my parts engine had a good dipstick, but when I looked at it, I found that it had been replaced with one out of a Cat transmission. I'll try to post some measurements later today. There's a few people selling used Major parts on eBay in the US. You might try emailing one of them and ask if they have a dipstick for sale.
