Major Mark I up to engine number 1308977 .. 29 degrees BTDC. (from 12-1951 to 9-1954)

Major Mark I from engine number 1308978 .. 26 degrees BTDC. (from 9-1954 to 4-1957)

Major Mark II from engine number 1425097 only with steel head gasket .. 19 degrees BTDC. (from 4-1957 to 7-1958)
Because this head gasket caused serious malfunctions, it was only used for a few months and was replaced by the copper / asbestos gasket during service.
DO NOT USE THE 19 DEGREE ADJUSTMENT ON ANY MAJOR.

Major Mark II from engine number 1425097 with copper / asbestos gasket .. 23 degrees BTDC. (from 4-1957 until 11-1960)

Major Mark III from engine number 1575971 .. 23 degrees BTDC. (from 11-1960 to 4-1962)

Major Mark III engine with Minimec Pump .. 21 degrees BTDC. (from 4 -1962 to 10-1964)
